About the artists:

Carolina-born and Philadelphia-bred V. Shayne Frederick is a "soulful" [DownBeat Magazine] international performing artist who is “one to watch, a shining light,” [Philadelphia Inquirer] "touted as one of the region's greatest jazz singers […] with his silken baritone and elegant charm.” [Metro Philadelphia] He’s electrified the Philadelphia Orchestra, TEDx, NPR, Con Alma Pittsburgh, Minton's Harlem, South Jazz Club, Chris' Jazz Cafe, venues coast to coast, and countless performances (solo and ensemble) at The Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia Museum of Art, residencies at upscale restaurants and hotels. His much-awaited sixth album, Treasures, was released in 2025 to international reception, and featured on JazzFM UK radio as the "Track of Week."

Maya Belardo is a jazz vocalist and composer from Wilmington, Delaware known as “The Princess of Jazz.” She fell in love with jazz at 12 and began performing professionally by 17, including at the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival. Maya blends classic inspiration with original music, spreading jazz to younger audiences while performing across the East Coast and internationally. Her EP Better Days is streaming now.

Ensemble Novo

Ensemble Novo's strikingly original sound is built on contrasts – the crystalline clarity of the vibraphone crossed with the husky introspection of tenor saxophone, the warmth of nylon string guitar woven into the crisp pulse of samba percussion. As is true of so much from Brazil, this is music that operates on several levels at once. As saxophonist Tom Moon says, “It’s incredibly sensual music, powered by beautiful alternating currents of joy and sorrow. Even at its most complex, Brazilian music never lets you forget what it feels like to dance – and what it means to miss the person you last danced with. We might veer away from the theme and go exploring, but we are always rooted in the rhythm.”

Drew Nugent & The Midnight Society

Drew Nugent is a jazz musician and composer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His primary instruments are piano, trumpet, voice, and believe it or not, the tea kettle! Nugent and the band  specialize in playing in the traditional "hot" jazz style of the 1920s. His band, known as the Midnight Society, is regarded as one of the best in the business, and has been together for over 10 years.

Under Drew's leadership, they bring forth an authentic, yet original approach to an art form over 100 years old. Nugent's inspiration comes from a who's who list of great performers, composers, and musicians, both obscure and known going back a full

century. 
Although a lot of this music may seem forgotten in many circles, it is alive and well with Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society

Kenya Diggit is a unique blend of Soul, R&B and funk sprinkled with eclectic instrumental Jazz and swing all infused into some classic rock and song book favorites with no era or musical style out of any bounds of their signature arrangements. Members include vocalist Kenya Teape, Joe Mekler on drums, Pete Romano on guitar, Michael Farrell on sax, and Vincent Giardina on bass. Local musicians have our heart!
